Great Canadian Cookbook
Project
Identity design for The Great Canadian Cookbook show by The Food Network Canada.
Design challenge
Create an identity and brand for a Canadian television series with Chef Lynn Crawford and host Noah Cappe travelling across Canada, show rooted in the celebration of Canadian cuisine, focusing on home cooking, committed to sharing culinary knowledge and fostering a sense of community.
Solution
After exploring different directions that evoked concepts like being Canadian, home-made, tradition, historic, and contemporary. The design solution was looking to be visually appealing, memorable, and relevant to the show’s content.
Outcome
The selected logo was selected for its simple and timeless representation of warm festivity (use of ribbon) rustic typography (sense of tradition and home cooking) and its connection to the Food Network through the use of colour. As well, the new designed brand was integrated in the Food Network channel website.
