Website redesign for the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto.

Challenge

Website design with information architecture update to highlight and help users to find relevant information. Identify user personas by use case, so the navigation would address specific needs such as discovering program details, admission requirements or relevant research publications.

Solution

A responsive website with a homepage working as a showcasing important areas within the website. In addition to the updated main navigation, a new section functions as a gateway to prospective students, current students, researchers and lastly alumni members. As well, a consisten UI pattern to facilitate secondary navigation, crucial to access deeper levels of relevant information. Colour throughout the interface helping users to differentiate content categories.

Outcome

Clear navigation labeling a more coherent information architecture across the website. Visually appealing and aligned with the University of Toronto’s identity. Considering WCAG guidelines for accessibility. Prominent and strategically placed calls-to-action (CTAs) to guide users towards desired actions, such as applying to a program or contacting admissions.
